After spending over a decade as Chief of Staff at a fast-paced media and advertising firm in the city, I gained firsthand experience in what it takes to run a business—from big-picture strategy to the tiniest details. Working closely alongside the CEO gave me a deep appreciation for leadership, organization, and creating experiences that leave a lasting impression.
But amidst the boardrooms and brainstorms, I found unexpected joy in a different kind of creative outlet: flowers. What started as a passion for floral photography and arranging centerpieces for work events quickly bloomed into something more. I began spending weekends learning the craft hands-on with a renowned florist in the city, and eventually developed a serious green thumb—thanks in part to being “volunteered” to care for our office plants. (Let’s just say they thrived, and so did I.)
Over time, I began dreaming of a space that felt like an escape—where the scent of fresh blooms fills the air, and the vibrant mix of florals and greenery instantly lifts your mood. That dream became Bev’s Blooms.
The name is deeply personal. I always hoped to one day name a daughter after my beloved grandmother, Beverly—a woman whose strength, warmth, and creativity continue to inspire me. Life had other plans, and I was blessed with two incredible boys instead. So when it came time to name the shop, there was no question: Bev’s Blooms would carry her legacy forward, a tribute to both her and to me—two Bev's, two generations of love and creativity.
Today, I live in Wheaton, IL with my husband Brian, our two wild and wonderful boys, Grayson and Rory, and our pups Ollie and Paisley.
Whether you’re visiting the shop, creating something at the Bloom Bar, or simply picking up a plant to brighten your home, I hope you l
eave feeling a little more inspired than when you arrived.
